    Description

HI, this is a vintage 1972 Schwinn Lemon Peeler 5 speed muscle bike rear disc brake model, serial number BH995894, the bars, stem and crank all are dated 1972, I believe the rest of the bike is original paint and parts but i don't know how to check those parts for dates, heres what I know about the bike, the seat is torn out in 2 spots near the front, it has a stain and it is missing some of the black ink area around the S, all visible in the pictures provided
, the front brake cable works as it should but the rear disc brake cable and disc brake pad / etc is missing, all we have is the rear disc rim and disc brake holder, both are pictured on the bike in this listing, the bike shifts fine, I think the front and rear tire may be original ?? but the front is shot and has cords showing and is missing tread in several places, the rear tire has a lot of large cracks in it, with all of the above things mentioned the bike will require some items and maintenance to be a reliable rider, a lot of the chrome parts are pitted, some very lightly, others a little heavier, most of it is visible if you zoom in on one of the 12 pictures we provided, the decal that calls out the gears is missing in spots, the front fender has some sharp dings in the front visible in pictures, sitting on the bike it feels like the right side handlebar may be pushed inward ever so slightly, if so i think it could be straightened in a vise fairly easily with a little pressure,
the back of the shifter mounting plate is missing one of the 3 chrome screws,
also when we got the bike it had mc gruff the crime dog stickers that would tell a potential bike thief that this bike was given a second serial number and it was recorded locally in case the bike was ever stolen (can be seen in last picture) I don't know if this was a Minnesota thing or national but we have owned 4 bikes from the 70s that had a second set of serial numbers crudely added, its been over 5 years since we got the bike so it could use a good detailed cleaning and polishing again, we bought this bike several years ago from the original owner, at that time we took it apart and cleaned all the parts and put new grease on the crank and fork bearings, its hung on the wall ever since, we recently upgraded and found a near mint orange krate , thats why we are letting this one go, shipping to the continental US only, yes we have shipped bikes before and we will pack this one with care, please ask questions before bidding, thanks for looking M & M
