1988 Bruce Gordon Cycles frameset, 53x54cm, vertical drops, eyelets, rack mounts

Description

Up for sale is a very nice Bruce Gordon Cycles frame and fork, 53cm seat tube c to c, 54cm top tube.  From the photos, you can see various scratches, nicks and missing paint from a front derailleur clamp.  From the serial # G010988, we know this frame was his first frame (01) of September (09), 1988.  Notice the bottle braze-on beneath the down tube, and also the rack eyelets.  The chain stays are 425mm with vertical drops, meaning, there is room for fenders.  A machine capable of Paris Brest Paris, for example.  I've no idea how Bruce characterized this geometry, a touring bike maybe, although I'll bet his delivery included some sarcastic wit.   The rear hub spacing is 126mm.  27.2 seat tube i.d.
Frame tubing decal is Columbus and fork steerer is, in fact, Columbus.  The seat tube isn't rifled inside, btw.
I am unsure of the ownership history of the frame.  It looks to be original paint but the decals are not under clear coat.  The decals look as if a previous owner coated them with shellac or clear nail polish to preserve them, although it's now discolored.
But really, if you've read this far, you know what you're looking at.  It's not a Chinook.  It's not a Rock 'n Road.  It's lugged and clearly the work of Bruce.  FREE SHIPPING.
